You will be responsible and accountable for analysing business requirements and architecting solutions for the requirements, as well as maintaining and enhancing current applications.

Deliver technical specifications based on agreed User requirements
Implement software systems according to the accepted technical specifications
Project manage new requirements and enhancements
Implement company development standards and practices
Mentor other developers in new technologies and company development standards and practices
Code reviews on an ongoing basis

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant tertiary qualification
Extensive knowledge of object-orientated design principles
Exposure to service orientated architectures
3-5 years experience with Java (1.5 preferred)
Solid understanding of JDBC and Hibernate
Solid understanding of JSPs and taglibs; understanding of JavaScript, CSS and HTML
Domain knowledge will be an advantage
Solid understanding of Web Services and exposure to Axis
3-5 years experience in SQL database development (Oracle experience preferred)
Experience with JUnit or similar
Experience with Tomcat
Exposure to TDD and agile (SCRUM) development methodologies
Exposure to Spring will be an advantage
