• Deliver technical specifications based on agreed User requirements
• Implement software systems according to the accepted technical specifications
• Project manage new requirements and enhancements
• Implement company development standards and practices
• Mentor other developers in new technologies and company development standards and practices
• Code reviews on an ongoing basis

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Extensive knowledge of object-orientated design principles
• Exposure to service orientated architectures
• 3-5 years experience with Java (1.5 preferred)
• Solid understanding of JDBC and Hibernate
• Solid understanding of JSPs and taglibs; understanding of JavaScript, CSS and HTML
• Domain knowledge will be an advantage
• Solid understanding of Web Services and exposure to Axis
• 3-5 years experience in SQL database development (Oracle experience preferred)
• Experience with JUnit or similar
• Experience with Tomcat
• Exposure to TDD and agile (SCRUM) development methodologies
• Exposure to Spring will be an advantage
