Consumer Advocate can now handle consumer credit complains

In an effort to streamline the handling of consumers’ complaints about creditors, Manie van Schalkwyk, the credit information ombud, has extended his jurisdiction to hear such complaints.

Previously, the ombud dealt only with complaints about credit bureaus. These complaints were referred to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) if they could not be resolved by the ombud.

Programme to help turn ideas into business plans

In February, the Cape IT Initiative's business incubator subsidiary, The Bandwidth Barn, is kicking off a training programme for entrepreneurs who have a business idea and who want help turning it into a fully-fledged business plan.

Third Software Engineering Colloquium

Knee deep in preparations for the Third Software Engineering Colloquium in March. This is a very important event (convened by CITI and the IEEE Computer Society Chaper).
