Phindile is a chemical engineer by training and has completed a post graduate degree in technology management. He started out as a development engineer at a leading global industrial gas company and subsequently became a partner at a techno-financial services company in Randburg to focus on his passion: building high-growth technology-based businesses.
Phindile has spent many years in strategic roles within the business incubation sector and has appreciable experience in the assessment and development of pre-start-up and start-up technology-based businesses.
He is thus well positioned in his current role as business developer at InnovUS (the technology transfer company of Stellenbosch University) where his primary role is the commercialization of Stellenbosch University (SU) intellectual property. This includes the identification of research outputs and knowledge products at SU that could be commercialised, assisting in the development of business plans for these knowledge products and providing pre and post investment support to SU spin out companies.
He is based in Durbanville, Cape Town with his wife Ruth and their 18 month old budding techno-preneur, kideovator, Caleb.

Hello Sir
It was a pleasure meeting you the other day although it was a brief meeting. It seems we have a lot in common and i share a similar vision with you. As a Chemical Engineer I see a lot of potential in Africa and I would like to see more home grown solutions to our problem. I will be delighted to learn a lot from your experiences.
