"Until very recently I was considering keeping my career plan open for options like consultancy and stock broking. I still wouldn't mind the latter, but I'm bent on infopreneurship, and I'm willing to start running my start-up full…"
I’m a university student currently doing my second year in B.Com Information Management at the University of Johannesburg. I live in Johannesburg but originate from Pietersburg (Polokwane). I’m an information entrepreneur, and have interests in music, fiction, poetry and social media.
Where can you be found on the web, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc?
Facebook, of course: Medz Musandiwa
Alternatively, email me at: spontimes@gmail.com
What is your current activity, project or occupation?
I’m working on a social news website concept I came up with in 2011. The idea, like most good ideas, came to me unexpectedly. I left the idea for three quarters of the year until I had to write a business plan for my degree’s namesake course, Information Management, as a project. The course was geared at Information Entrepreneurship, introducing us to the concept and equipping us with the basic tools to start an infopreneurship venture. I wrote a business plan for that course (for which I got a distinction), and haven’t looked back ever since. I’m currently knee-deep in business planning, looking for co-founders and perhaps some VC contacts to contact at a later stage.
And if this is at all helpful to anyone reading this, I’m in love with the Silicon Cape idea and would happily relocate to Cape Town to start my business. I’ve been thinking of relocating after finishing my tertiary education for a while now. This has provided the final tipping force.
Feel free to contact me if you are at all interested.
In what place did you last go to school or other institute of learning?
St. Peter's College (Sunninghill); University of Johannesburg
