- Who are you?
- I am a 26 year old, freelance production / project management consultant, specializing in the digital media & entertainment industry. I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Film Producing from AFDA, the Oscar award winning & internationally recognised South African School Of Motion Picture Medium & Live Performance. I graduated on the dean's list in 2006.
I am also a qualified Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer & have a background in computer networking & technology consulting for film production companies as well as for small to medium enterprises.
My Previous experience is as a freelance film producer for Film Afrika, one of South Africa's leading film production companies. I worked on a variety of productions until 2009, when I was approached by Waterfront Studios, Cape Town's primary post production facility, to take up a position as a systems engineer & technical consultant to their Visual Effects department. While at Waterfront Studios, I was tasked with upgrading their outdated Visual Effects Pipeline. On completion of the upgrade, I turned my attention back to freelance technical consulting and assisted in re-structuring my family's import/export business, whilst at the same time studying towards a MSc degree in Project Management through the University of Liverpool.
Upon completion of my post graduate studies, I plan to produce, consult & project manage projects in the videogame, visual effects & computer animation industries.
To date, I have produced 20 short films, 7 television commercials, one made-for-TV movie (commissioned by pay-TV broadcaster MNet) as well as working on, consulted and projected managed the technical upgrade of a visual effects studio and technically consulted for a variety of film productions & small businesses.
