Who are you?
I am the Programme Manager for the Academic CIO Forum.
The CIO Forum is a social enterprise seeking to contribute to the development of human capital in Africa through the advancement of information systems and technology which will promote entrepreneurship, skills and job opportunities in a global knowledge economy.
Our aim is to identify needs and gaps that are not being addressed in the public or private sector which relates to the development of information systems and technology locally and the broader region of Africa in a global context. Of particular interest are areas for developing knowledge intensive opportunities, skills and capacity involving software skills, knowledge management, business and enterprise management and entrepreneurship and social innovation.
The CIO Forum is not open to consultants, recruiters or technology salespeople and/or marketers.
I've made some improvements to the system for parked domains - i.e. domains that don't have DNS records. Care to try it and let me know what you think, please :-) ? Simply visit a domain that's not yet configured.
I've uploaded a brief video onhow to setup Google Apps in general and email in particular with your domains at www.domain-name-registration.co.za. As you know, this site is still in beta which is why your feedback is so valuable now to address all usability issues. Thanks. If you have any more questions or suggestions please also, as per our phone call earlier, use the domain forum.
Bridgette if you want your opening keynote to set the pace for the most productive, enthusiastic and fun loving conference you’ve ever had? I have a great topic entitled “Do You Want To Leverage This Networking Opportunity?” Do you recognize this situation at conferences? The regulars flock together and are unable to break free from their familiar circle. Newcomers are shy and they do not interact with anyone. And most people missed out on its potential, but are unable to put their finger on what went wrong.
This highly motivational and interactive conference opener offers a solution. What is it about? During the presentation the following subjects are discussed by way of a unique combination of asking questions and underpinned audience participation so they make contacts on the spot.

The benefit of opening your congress, event or function this way is not only the increased awareness of the parties present with regard to networking and a number of practical tips they have been given, but also the very positive atmosphere created for the rest of the day. We have noticed that the people interact and start talking to each other after giving them the secrets to making contacts and building internal and external business relationships, networking words to start a conversation, networking tips and targets at conferences, workshops and functions.
