After the concept launch event on Thursday, October 8th 2009,
The Silicon Cape Foundation non-profit entity will be formed
by a 10-seat community appointed steering committee to carry
forward the vision of the initiative. The process for the
establishment of the foundation is as follows:
- All community nominations and volunteers for the steering
committee to be submitted to nominations@siliconcape.com by Friday
16th October 2009
- After the closing, a community vote will be held for a
shortlist for the 10 seats based on the nominations received
- Once in place, the steering committee will takeover from the
interim steering committee and be charged with electing a
chairperson, establishing the foundation and charter, fundraising,
developing a working document of objectives and roles, establishing
portfolio sub-committees, co-opting members, and so on.
