Hi All

Things are moving a pace for the first Bootstrappers Braai . We now have a venue that we will finalize soon.

We need people to volunteer for the following roles
We require some help with the following:

Master of Heraldry: Someone to help design a funky logo
Master Gunner: Someone to help invite people and just create general awareness
Quarter Master: Someone to manage the booty
Boatswain: This person will help manage the stores and setting up functions
Sailing Master: Responsible for the Bootstrapper Braai Group/Blog and who polls attendees on changes/additions to the event
Again the main aim is to hold an informal social event for people starting companies/ involved with start ups or keen to start them.

Hallo, open source advocates!
PC uses would know there is this annoying autorun.inf virus that copies itself unto your USB drive and next thing you know you have to go through onehelava rigmarole to open the drive. Ninja Pendisk takes care of this horrible little critter for you. I’m not sure if it is open .
source pre say, but it is free like the air you breathe (until Obama’s Cap-in-Trade legislation start taxing you for that too.)
But this little app would at least take care of this thing that had me off my rocker for years now. Just run it. Then plug your USB drive in, and see if it works. If it does not, do unplug and re-plug until it does.

Hi. Good topic, thanks for starting this group Deon. I should stop whining about - the platform that runs this and one of my sites - but how can I, if I am constantly limited by not being able to touch or even see the source. Maybe I am not doing ning justice but they really seem to have embraced closed source to a fault. Support for opensocial makes it sound open but then it's only an API and most apps are closed too. Does anyone know a good OS social networking platform - preferably not built on php?

Blender (open source 3D) was voted best 3D designer 2009.
Blender has 10ths of plug-ins like farmer Joe. The source code was 1st developed for Lord of the Rings, and then the community took over to create the award winning 3D suite. An affiliate runs a commercial media studio solely on open source software.
Gimp, Inkscape and Blender are the top three applications that they use.

I discovered an elegant little open app last night called: Resize-o-matic.
It is the smartest and simplest way of resizing pictures for upload, email or facebook.
