The Silicon Cape Initiative

In an article by James Lawson on IT Web
he reports that Ireland and China is seeking software companies to
invest in. It would seem that Ireland is on a massive drive to protect
and grow its current industry. The venture capitalists also seem to try
and invest in more software companies to take advantage of new
technologies and 'indigenous businesses'.

The initiative is organised by the Irish Software Association's first Software Investment Forum.
What would it take from the Computer Society of South Africa and the
Silicon Cape initiative to launch a proper organised event which will
bring these parties together? Real value and real opportunities. Isn't
this what the Silicon Cape initiative is all about?

We used to have such events organised by First Tuesdays but the initiative seem to be dead.

Silicon Cape Initiative already held the first networking event for entrepreneurs, investors and others at the Old Biscuit Mill at the end of last year, which was attended by some 400 people. The steering committee is currently looking at organising the next set of events...
Looks like I missed the first event. Hope I will be able to catch the next one.
