planning for the major life stages

The only constant in life is change. As you move through the various phases of your life, you will find that your financial goals and priorities will change. It is therefore important that your financial plan is a flexible roadmap that always reflects where you are and where you want to be.

Certain eventualities such as marriage, your first home, a business, children, retirement, death, etc. need careful consideration and planning. At the next financial planning club presentation, Pat Blamire CFP®, Financial Planner at Chartered Wealth Solutions will take a closer look at the various life stages and will offer some insight into the financial planning considerations. The presentation will take the form of a timeline and will cover the following:

~         18 – the age of majority

~         20s and 30s (marriage, wills, business contracts, your first home, divorce considerations, etc.)

~         40s – 50s (offshore allowances, investments, etc.)

~         50+ (reaching retirement, etc.)

Pat joined the financial services industry in 2004 as a Principal Officer on a retirement fund. She later consulted to institutional clients and assisted trustees in setting investment strategies for their funds.  This was where she developed her passion for helping individuals with their financial planning.   Pat was a finalist in this year’s Personal Finance/Financial Planning Institute’s Financial Planner of the Year competition. She holds an advanced tax certificate and postgraduate diploma in financial planning.
