Event Description

Due to the large number of people that have shown interest in getting involved in helping deliver projects to the Silicon Cape community, we thought it would be best to have one big planning session.

This will be a chance to find out about all of the projects that we are currently running as well as present the opportunity to suggest projects of your own. WE will explain what we are currently doing, what we'd like to do as well as what positions we need filled to be able to do them. Most of them will only be a couple of hour here and there and your level of participation is entirely up to you.

So if you want to support the idea that is Silicon Cape and help it to be realized through some tangible outputs, we hope you join us.

Hi Guys,

Would've loved to be there tonight but my little one is sick so can't make it. Will somebody be taking notes?

ICT project sounds very interesting would love to know more.

@Ziggy: One of the projects that I am going to be talking about is around ICT development. This meeting will be the best place to talk to me about it as well as finding others who might be interested in getting involved.

I have an idea i'd like to talk about, but am not very good at presenting.  basically I want to setup a little class whereby we can promote open source software, and development to underprivelaged clever kids, that normally only get the chance to play with windows and word but not much else.  Is this the right place to talk about it, and would it be welcomed as a possible venture? I've allready got one or tow sponsors involved, and am busy trying to locate our first safe classroom.  Would the Shuttleworth foundation look at helping an initiative like this do you think?

I have the same problem as Nicholas - the U2 concert.  Any possibility of rescheduling?

@Nicholas: fair enough excuse. If you are still wanting to get involved, shoot me an email with what you might like to do and I'll see where you can fit in after Tuesday. rogern@siliconacoe.com
