Event Description

Come and join fellow Silicon Cape community members for the first regular networking evening, aimed at promoting interaction between all participants, from entrepreneurs and service providers through to investors.

The keynote speaker for the evening will be Mark Levitt, CEO of Chesscube, who recently raised R10m from local venture capital firm InVenFin. Mark will be talking about how he built a global-facing online company from Cape Town, with a worldwide revenue and user base.

Comedian Mark Palmer will be breaking the ice on the evening along with some local "Silicon Grape" wines, which should ease the social interaction.

Please RSVP here to attend. Please don't RSVP if you don't intend to come, or if you can no longer attend please change your RSVP status so that the next people in line can attend.

Donations to help fund this event will be accepted at the door. Please bring some cash! Biscuit mill fare will also be on offer by Neighbourgoods.

Any sponsors for assisting in the costs of the increased capacity would also be most welcome.

Hi everyone, please send through any 250pax capacity venues you know and that will be willing and able to help :-)

Hi folks,

These are intended to be regular networking events, perhaps monthly, so there will be others! ;)

The interim networking events committee is busy thinking about what can be done to accommodate all the enthusiasm.

Cheers,
Justin

Change the venue!! Surely restricting attendance is is not the way to begin.

Wow more that 100% oversubscribed in less than 24 hours.
To interim steering committee, judging by this response is it not possible to accommodate for this ?
Maybe even for a small fee to help fund the venue?
Would be a shame to miss this one.

C'mon guys, for the first-ever event? Surely more people should be able to attend.

Number 214... Allister please email everyone a few days before to ask them to set "Not Attending" if they can't make it.

no. 202, what are the chances of me making it on the final 100;
1. if 102 confirmed attendees cancel.
2. event organizers manage to extend attendees to at least 202.
3. gate crash? nope, not an option...

Attending (432)

Might attend (42)

Not Attending (109)
